Gonzaga basketball squares off against the BYU Cougars in West Coast Conference action on Saturday night. Take a look at the three keys to victory for the Bulldogs.

Spread the wealth, again!

Drew Timme went off for 30 points on a near-perfect shooting night going 13-of-14 from the field in the first victory as Gonzaga basketball cruised to an easy 110-84 victory. The Bulldogs dished out a career-high 28 assists on 43 made shots in their first meeting. Let’s see if they can boost that number to 30 as they square off once again on Saturday.

The Bulldogs offense was in a word “On one!” against BYU when they squared off the first time, pouring in 61 first-half points before cooling off slightly in the second half with just 49 points. The 110 points scored were a season-high for the Bulldogs in what was a statement game for them in the WCC.

Gonzaga basketball leads NCAA basketball in margin of victory, winning games by an average of 24.9 points per game this season. Andrew Nembhard is playing well at the lead guard role and it’s shown in his ability to distribute the ball. He’ll look to notch a season-high 12 assists or better as he did in the last meeting against the Cougars.

His career-high is 13 assists, which he set back in 2019. With a stronger showing in the bulk of their WCC basketball schedule, look for him to have another solid game in the backcourt.
