6-foot-9 freshman Jeremy Sochan, Guard/Forward, Baylor Bears
Jeremy Sochan has become one of Baylor basketball’s biggest assets off the bench in his freshman season. His ability to play multiple positions on the floor with his length at 6-foot-9 has allowed him to flourish with the Bears and he’s shown his potential as an NBA Draft prospect in the process.
Sochan has averaged 8.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg (2.1 offensive per contest), 1.9 apg, and 1.3 spg in 2021-22 across 18 appearances in his first collegiate season. He’s shown he can knock down shots on the perimeter (35.7 percent) and from the overall field (51.4 percent), rebound the ball on both ends and ranks second in Big 12 basketball in defensive rating (85.5) as a defensive stopper in the lineup.
Best game of the season for Baylor freshman Jeremy Sochan yesterday. Intriguing movement and ball skills for someone his size. Continues to improve. Pretty firmly a lottery guy for me and if the shot gets there...maybe top 6-7. pic.twitter.com/CidaaClNpk

He’s recorded just one double-double off the bench so far this season, but his ability to defend multiple spots on the floor, inside and out, has allowed for him to average 22.8 minutes per contest.
He’s another player that could potentially test the NBA Draft waters at the season’s end depending on his performance in the NCAA Tournament. He’s not necessarily an instant draft lock but it wouldn’t be surprising if he got some feedback before returning for his sophomore season.
