The final month of February will have a ton of teams battling it out for spots in the NCAA Tournament. Here’s a look at some bubble teams to watch as Bracketlogy gets going on BustingBrackets heading into the 2022 NCAA Tournament.

Quadrant records of each team that appeared in this piece were compiled using NET rankings.

Alabama Crimson Tide (14-9) (4-6 SEC)

Alabama basketball is one squad on the proverbial bubble in the NCAA Tournament to keep an eye on in their final eight games. They’ve lost three of their last four games in SEC basketball action though they’ve gotten inspired play from junior guards Jahvon Quinerly and Jaden Shackelford.

Shackelford (17.2 ppg), Quinerly (13.7 ppg), and 6-foot-6 wing Keon Ellis (10.9 ppg) are their three double-figure scorers that they’ll need to right the ship and Juwan Gary is still recovering from injury but he’s still managed to produce 5.6 ppg and 3.5 rpg through eight conference games.

Freshman guard J.D. Davison is another name to keep an eye on for them as well. He’s put up 8.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg, and 3.9 apg as a role player off the bench for them. He’s another player that could raise this team’s profile in the NCAA Tournament.

They’ll need to stay on the better side of the bubble of their next few games and potentially get above .500 in conference play if they hope to impress the committee. With a 6-6 record against Quadrant I teams and a 2-1 record against Quadrant II teams, they’ve proven to be a formidable opponent but they’ve also got two Quadrant III losses under their belt this season. Another one of those could put them off the bubble. For now, they’re safe and in the field of 68.
