Murray State Racers (OVC)

Murray State basketball is back on top of OVC basketball and has quietly taken the spotlight from conference counterpart, Belmont, on the mid-major basketball stage. They’re 12-0 in conference play and 22-2 on the season as an at-large team to watch in the NCAA Tournament.

Tevin Brown is a rising name to know as the month of March approaches. He’s produced 15.6 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 3.1 apg, and 1.5 spg while shooting 35.4 percent from 3-point range in conference play for the Racers this season.

6-foot-10 big man K.J. Williams has shown his improvement on the interior with 16.3 ppg, 10.3 rpg, and 2.2 spg and shooting 52.7 percent on the interior. He ranks second in the conference in rebounds per contest and ranks third in offensive rebounds (75). He’s a name to know for them in the paint area.

The Racers have won 12 games and counting heading into their final stretch of games in OVC basketball. They’ll need to be prepared on Feb. 24 with Belmont on the slate but they’ve defeated convincingly already back on Jan. 15. They’ve proven themselves so far as they look to make their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2019 back when Ja Morant took the NCAA basketball world by storm.
