(2) Duke vs. (15) Longwood

Kansas basketball holds the No. 1 seed in the East Region despite their loss to the Longhorns on Monday night. They’ll need to bounce back against Oklahoma on Saturday, a team on the bubble in this year’s NCAA Tournament field.

Seton Hall, Davidson, UNC, and UConn basketball could still have some work to do to improve on their tournament resumes. The Pirates are 4-5 against Q1 teams, 2-1 against Q2 teams, and 6-1 against Q3 teams with a big Q1 opponent coming up on the road this Saturday in Villanova.

Davidson basketball has a record of 2-1 against Q1 squads and 2-2 against Q2 squads with a 15-0 record against Q3 and Q4 teams. They’ve got a favorable schedule ahead of them to become a lock for an automatic bid, even if they do end up taking the automatic bid in the conference tournament.

The Tar Heels are 0-7 this season against Quadrant I teams but 17-0 against the other three quadrants on the spectrum. With only Duke left on the schedule in terms of quality wins, it could be tough for them to hold their position.

UConn basketball is firmly in the field, for now, but they’ll need to prove themselves tonight against Xavier on the road to secure another Q1 victory. They’re currently 4-5 in Q1 action this season.
