Two top 25 Big 12 face-off when Texas plays Texas Tech on Saturday. This is the second game between the two programs since Chris Bread left Tech for Texas. This will be a pivotal game for the Big 12 regular-season title.

The Texas Longhorns go into this game with a record of 19-7. Their seven losses have come against Baylor, Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Kansas State, Seton Hall, Texas Tech, and Gonzaga. Their best win on the season has come against Kansas. They’re ranked 20th in the AP poll.

Offensively, the Longhorns are led by Tommy Allen. Allen is averaging 11 points per game on 52 percent shooting. They’re has a very good defense. The Longhorns only allow 57 points per game. The key to their defense is limiting ball movement. They also only allow nine assists per game, good for 5th in the country.

The Red Raiders go into this game with a record of 20-6. Their six losses have come against Oklahoma, Iowa State, Kansas State, Kansas, Providence, and Gonzaga. Their best win on the season has come against Baylor.

Offensively, the Red Raiders are led by Bryson Williams. Williams is averaging 13 points per game on 53 percent shooting. Another notable player for Tech is Kevin Mccullar. Mccullar leads them in rebounds, assists, and steals. The junior is averaging five rebounds, three assists, and one steal per game.

Tech handly beat Texas in the first matchup. The Red Raiders won the first game behind a dominant first half. Every starter for the Red Raiders scored double figures except one. This game should be a closer matchup as the Longhorns was dealing with a rowdy crowd. The crowd was rowdy because this was Chris Beard’s first game back at Tech.
