Brandon Murray, 6’5 Guard, Georgetown Hoyas

Brandon Murray is one of eight transfers joining the Georgetown Hoyas, a group that also includes the return of Qudus Wahab after a season at Maryland in the Big Ten. Murray joins the Hoyas after spending this past year with the LSU Tigers. Will Wade’s departure at the helm opened the door for Murray to return to the DMV as he looks to make a name at Georgetown.

Murray was an All-Freshmen performer in 2021-22, posting 10.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 1.9 apg, and 1.1 spg as a presence in the SEC ranks. He ranked fourth among freshmen in the SEC in scoring, fifth in steals and finished first in minutes per contest (30.8) in his first college season with LSU.

He’ll look to pick up where he left off as he joins a team that went winless in the Big East this past season at 0-19. It could be the last straw head coach Patrick Ewing, or the beginning of something special.

Murray is a big guard that’s seen his fair share of growing pains on the recruiting front so it’s a bittersweet moment to see him joining Georgetown. Jay Heath (Arizona State) and Bryson Mozone  (USC Upstate) are two other names joining the squad from the transfer portal that should also make an impact.
