K.C. Ndefo, 6’7 Forward, Seton Hall Pirates

K.C. Ndefo will join first-year head coach Shaheen Holloway as he looks to build on the success of last year’s run with the St. Peter’s Peacocks. Ndefo is one of the stars on St. Peter’s as they made a Cinderella run to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament. He’s a three-time MAAC Defensive Player of the Year that comes in with a production line of 10.5 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 2.8 bpg, and 2.4 apg during the regular season and 9.5 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 3.5 bpg and 3.0 apg in the NCAA Tournament in 2021-22.

He’s a prospect that flies around on defense with the potential of using all five fouls in the process but manages to play until the very end still.

He’ll be a key piece in the continued rise of Holloway in the coaching ranks as he takes over following the departure of Kevin Willard to Maryland. While undersized at 6-foot-7 to play at the five, his ability to play with a ton of energy defensively should give the Pirates quite the identity in year one.

Ndefo earned the Lefty Driesell National Defensive Player of the Year award last year, given to the top defensive player in Division I. He will have a lot more to prove on the Big East stage while leading four others out of the transfer portal.
