Josh Mballa, 6’7 Forward, Ole Miss Rebels

Josh Mballa looks to make quite the splash at his third stop with the Ole Miss Rebels after stints at Texas Tech and the past three seasons with the Buffalo Bulls in the MAC. He brings with him quite the defensive resume as the Rebels look to make their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2019.

Mballa was the MAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2020-21 and All-MAC defensive selection from 2020-22, while showing off his ability to be a presence in the paint on both ends of the floor. He racked up 29 double-doubles across 82 appearances with the Bulls from 2019-22 and is quite the offensive rebounding wizard.

He nearly averaged more offensive rebounds (3.7) than defensive rebounds (4.9) a season ago while putting up 13.0 ppg on 48.9 percent shooting from the field. He ranked second in the MAC in offensive rebounds (103) as well.

While undersized a bit at 6-foot-7, Mballa is a prospect that’s shown he can guard multiple roles on the floor and be a burden for opponents on the offensive rebounding front as well. He’ll look to breathe life into an Ole Miss Rebels’ frontcourt that ranked 12th out of all 14 teams in the SEC in rebounds per contest a year ago.
