Ebrima Dibba, 6’6 Guard/Forward, South Carolina Gamecocks

Ebrima Dibba is yet another playmaking guard from the lower levels of Division I NCAA basketball making the jump to the high-major ranks with the South Carolina Gamecocks. He’s one of five names joining the Gamecocks rotation out of the transfer portal.

Dibba averaged 8.1 ppg, 5.4 apg, 4.8 rpg, and 1.3 spg, shooting 45.7 percent from the floor and 34.4 percent from 3-point range while leading the Sun Belt in assists (173) this past season. He’s a length prospect that can operate in a number of roles as evidenced by his production.

He likes to get others involved as much as he likes to score which should give the Gamecocks backcourt quite the experienced floor general to work with in 2022-23.

Dibba dished a career-high 12 assists back on December 30, 2021, off the bench in a victory over Louisana-Monroe. He’s a name that certainly knows how to fill up the stat sheet. He also notched 15 points, seven assists and six rebounds on 4-of-7 shooting from the floor and 6-of-8 shooting from the free throw line against Little Rock later on Feb. 25.

First-year head coach Lamont Paris has already made waves with G.G. Jackson’s addition to their 2022 recruiting class. Dibba is another name to know he’s acquired from Myrtle Beach at Coastal Carolina that should turn things around in their backcourt.
