Ricky Council IV, 6’6 Wing/Guard, Arkansas Razorbacks

As always is the case with Eric Musselman, the transfer portal is where he always seems to put together impressive classes that mesh together in a short amount of time. Ricky Council IV is the top name to know out of Wichita State as one of five transfers in their 2022 class.

Council has the potential to make the Razorbacks a dangerous team, especially in March, with his ability to use his length as a defender and downhill threat. He was the American Athletic Conference Sixth Man of the Year with the Shockers, posting 12.0 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 1.6 spg and 1.1 apg off the bench across 26.6 minutes of action per contest.

He went off for a career-high 31 points this past January in a victory over the UCF Knights, going 6-of-10 from the field, 3-of-4 from the 3-point arc and 16-of-20 from the free throw line. Again, all of it came off the bench.

Council uses his length and versatility in a variety of ways and knows how to create free-throw opportunities for himself. Across 28 games, he generated an offensive rating of 107.3 and a defensive rating 96.3 when he was on the floor, numbers that should boost his status in the Razorbacks rotation this season on the wing and in the backcourt.
