Kyle Lofton, 6’3 Point Guard, Florida Gators

Former star St. Bonaventure floor general Kyle Lofton will be donning blue and orange in 2022-23 as he uses his extra year of eligibility to join the Gators and newly hired head coach He’s one of four names joining the roster out of the transfer portal.

Electric is one word that best describes Lofton’s style of play. He averaged 12.8 ppg, 5.9 apg, 3.8 rpg, and 2.0 spg while shooting 40.2 percent from the field as the leading name for the Bonnies as they went 23-10 this past season, finishing fourth in the Atlantic 10.

Senior forward Colin Castleton should enjoy what Lofton brings to the table, especially with the ball in his hands in the pick-and-roll in 2022-23.

In arguably the best performance of his career, Lofton dished out a career-high 17 assists to go along with 11 points on four total field goals made and five steals in a victory over UMass back on Feb. 16, showing that he doesn’t always need to score to make his presence felt at the point guard position.

Lofton will look to breathe life into the Florida offense alongside Castleton this upcoming season after showing off his prowess as a shooter and playmaker for a Bonnies squad that went 70-43 in four seasons with him on it.
