Michael Jones, 6’5 Guard, Stanford Cardinal

Michael Jones makes a move from the East Coast to the West Coast as he trades in his Davidson Wildcats colors for Stanford Cardinals colors in the PAC-12 Conference.

The Cardinal have acquired one of the best shooters from the Atlantic 10 this past season with the acquisition of Jones. Jones finished ranked 9th in the conference in 3-pointers made (69) and sixth in offensive rating (123.6) while averaging 11.8 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 1.9 apg, and 1.0 spg while shooting 42.1 percent from 3-point land and 46.1 percent from the field.

He should take some pressure off of Harrison Ingram, whose return surprised a lot of draft analysts, and last year’s leading scorer, Spencer Jones. Michael Jones should bring some relief on offense, especially as a sharpshooter on the perimeter.

Jones averaged 2.0 3-point makes per contest while knocking down a career-high 69 3-pointers in the Davidson rotation this past season. He went off for a career-high 29 points back on Jan. 14, knocking down a total of eight 3-pointers, also a career-high, on the road against Richmond in a victory.

With his length at 6-foot-5 and ability to get hot in a hurry, the Cardinal have a perimeter threat with the potential to take some of the pressure off the inside attack of Ingram and Spencer Jones.
