Justin Powell, 6’6 Guard/Wing, Washington State Cougars

Justin Powell makes the third stop of his college career from the transfer portal, this time landing with the Washington State Huskies in the PAC-12 after spending the 2021-22 season with the Tennessee Volunteers and the 2020-21 season with the Auburn Tigers.

Powell started in seven of 10 games back in 2020-21 with the Tigers, putting up 11.7 ppg, 6.1 rpg and 4.7 apg in the backcourt before suffering a season-ending injury. He hit the portal while sidelined, landing with the Volunteers this past season.

He posted just 3.7 ppg and 1.5 rpg across 30 appearances before hitting the transfer portal once again with two years left to play and a ton of potential with his skillset.

Powell has shown he can fill it up in a hurry on the perimeter and still make plays with the ball in his hands. He had a 26-point performance on 7-of-9 shooting from behind the arc while also dishing out nine assists and snagging four rebounds back on December 4, 2020, against the South Alabama Jaguars.

Powell looks to find his way on a roster that returns just five players from its 2021-22 roster. His size at 6-foot-6 should allow him to play multiple roles on the floor given his previous experience with the Volunteers and Tigers in the SEC.
