The Tennessee Volunteers looked like a Final Four contender earlier in the year in a loaded SEC, but their hopes dimmed significantly when point guard Zakai Zeigler went down for the count several weeks before the NCAA Tournament. The Florida Atlantic University Owls? They were happy just to be ranked inside the AP Top 25, most likely.
But now? It’s Tennessee vs FAU for a spot in the Elite 8 on Saturday, and ticket prices at Madison Square Garden, the World’s Most Famous Arena, are … slipping slightly, due to a distinct lack of Duke in the region, but still not enough to be classified as a “steal”.
If you want to see Santiago Vescovi’s sharpshooting up close, it’s going to cost you.
Tennessee vs FAU March Madness Ticket Prices
According to SeatGeek, the lowest price for a pair of tickets to Thursday night’s festivities (which also includes a seat for Michigan State-Kansas State, which tips off first around 6:30 pm EST) is $196 a pop (including fees). These have dropped over the past few days, from ~$240 minimum when it still seemed as if Duke and Marquette might be making the trip, and if you’re holding out hope for a cheaper deal, you might want to wait it out outside the arena (or past tipoff for the first game) and pounce.
That’s the majesty of digital tickets. No more waiting across the street, desperately trying to get the printer to work (while standing in a crowd of 30 people doing the same thing at the business center). Not like I’ve ever done that or anything.
If you want to see the full night’s worth of action, it’ll probably cost you nearly $200 per ticket … plus drinks, dinner, and gear. If you’d rather see only the late game, you might be able to take advantage of some attentive seller’s desperation and get a deal.
