NC State Wolfpack – Point guard, scoring wing

The Wolfpack has lost most of its rotation, including guards Jarkel Joiner and Terquavion Smith. They’ve added Butler transfer Jayden Taylor but even if Casey Morsell is back, will need at least one other ball-handler. And with Greg Gantt having transferred out, there’s a lack of depth on the wing as well.

The frontcourt may be a position of need as well, depending on what happens with seniors, D.J. Burns and Dušan Mahorčič. If either one of them opts to go pro and move on, NC State needs another forward, unless Ernest Ross is ready for more minutes.

Pittsburgh Panthers – Veteran PG

The Panthers have lost four guards to eligibility this offseason but have filled most holes, including landing High Point transfer, Zach Austin. Dior Johnson will be back after redshirting his freshman season and the frontcourt, led by Blake Hinson and Federiko Federiko, is intact.

It’s still not a guarantee that Johnson is ready to run the offense and right now, all of the ball-handlers for Pittsburgh are freshmen. After having seniors run the offense this past season, the team would be best served to find another veteran in the portal to stabilize the backcourt.
