2. Tylor Perry – North Texas Mean Green

2022-23 season stats: 17.3 ppg and 2.1 apg

Recruiting battle: Kansas State vs Florida vs Ole Miss vs Texas Tech

North Texas operated at the slowest pace in all of NCAA Basketball and yet Perry still managed to be an elite scorer, dropping 20+ points 15 times. The Conference USA Player of the Year shot 41% from three-point range and is a quality defender as well, making him one of the top transfers available.

The recruiting battle is likely a three-team race, as Perry had announced a list of four teams but only visited three. The other team is Texas Tech, who just hired his coach at North Texas, Grant McCasland. Yet none of the other players have joined him and I don’t see the Red Raiders being a viable option.

As for the SEC teams, both of them could use a true point guard. Ole Miss has added Brandon Murray (may have to sit out) and Austin Nunez. Yet Florida’s roster looked much more appealing and could use Perry to pair with Iona transfer Walton Clayton to round out what would be a very impressive pickup.

Ultimately, the team to watch is Kansas State, who despite the highly impressive past season, still has yet to land a transfer. And after losing the Max Abmas recruiting battle to Texas, needs to land Perry or risk being in deep trouble when it comes to building out the backcourt. Yet all three really could use an elite two-way senior guard.
