Arkansas Basketball: Projected starting lineup and depth chart for 2023-24 season
Arkansas Basketball was an NCAA Tournament out of the SEC this past season. Though they return just five players from last year’s squad, head coach Eric Musselman has reloaded in a big way out of the transfer portal. The potential is there for the Razorbacks to play as many as 12 if everybody stays healthy.
Arkansas welcomes nine newcomers including seven out of the transfer portal as they look to replicate another NCAA Tournament appearance. The Razorbacks stumbled a bit this season, going 22-14, 8-10 in conference action to finish ninth in the SEC standings. It was still enough for them to earn a 9-seed in the tournament. They even upset No. 1 seeded Kansas in the second round before falling in the Sweet 16 to UConn.
The Razorbacks return just one of their Top 5 scorers in Davonte Davis. Trevon Brazile returns from an ACL injury after appearing in just nine games. The acquisitions of El Ellis (Louisville), Khalif Battle (Temple), Tramon Mark (Houston), and Keyon Menifield (Washington) should bolster their backcourt play. Jeremiah Davenport (Cincinnati), Chandler Lawson (Memphis), and Denijay Harris (Southern Miss) are all in the mix to carve out roles in the frontcourt as well.
Given the experience and talent Arkansas has put together, there’s a ton of room for their newcomers to carve out roles for themselves. There should be a struggle in the early going for playing time given what Arkansas added out of the transfer portal.
Coach Musselman will have his hands full finding playing time for a lot of talent on his roster this upcoming year. Check out the projected starting lineup and depth for the Razorbacks in 2023-24.
