Point Guard

Starter – El Ellis (27 mpg)

El Ellis is the first newcomer out of the transfer portal that should find himself in the starting rotation for the Razorbacks. Ellis was the lone bright spot for an otherwise abysmal Louisville season that saw them go 4-28 and 2-18 in ACC play in 2022-23. He still managed to produce 17.7 ppg, 4.4 apg, 2.6 rpg and 1.0 spg on 31.9 percent from 3-point land and 41.0 percent from the field. He certainly has shown he knows how to run an offense and improve his production. Now, he’ll just need to do it with higher expectations in the SEC with the Razorbacks.

Bench – Layden Blocker (13 mpg)

Keyon Menifield joins the Razorbacks roster after earning All-Freshman honors in 2022-23 in the Pac-12 with the Washington Huskies. The early projection was for him to play a lot of minutes given he averaged 28.6 minutes per contest as a freshman this past season. Unfortunately, he’s already been set to redshirt for next season so won’t be part of the rotation.

That’s good news for Layden Blocker, a top-30 prospect in the 2024 class. A case can be made that he’s the lone true point guard on the Arkansas roster so look for him to find some minutes among all the veterans surrounding him.
