Shooting Guard

Starter – Boogie Ellis (35 mpg)

Boogie Ellis returns for the Trojans looking to lead them to success once again. He’ll have a few guys in the rotation to take some of the heat off of him after putting up 17.7 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 3.1 apg and 1.4 spg on 38.6 percent shooting from behind the arc and 43.4 percent from the floor. He’s got room to produce even more assists and then some with Isaiah Collier, Bronny James and D.J. Rodman added to the mix.

Ellis has made quite the climb in the conference since joining the Trojans after the 2020-21. He began his career back in 2019-20 in the AAC with the Memphis Tigers. Now, he looks to go out with a bang with quite a talented cast of players around him.

Bench – Oziyah Sellers/Bronny James/Kobe Johnson (5 mpg)

The minutes could be sporadic for Oziyah Sellers depending on the status of Bronny James. Sellers made 25 appearances for the Trojans while producing 1.1 ppg across 5.2 minutes per contest in 2022-23. There a quite a few ways to go though if Bronny James is available. Even without him though, the Trojans have enough depth/versatility that they shouldn’t have too much to worry about. Kobe Johnson is another name who could see minutes at the shooting guard spot. He’s shown he can stroke it from deep and make his presence felt as a playmaker in the rotation as well.
