Power Forward

Starter – Bryce Hopkins (35 mpg)

Bryce Hopkins is another player out of the SEC (Kentucky) who made quite the splash in the Big East this past season with Providence. He took home first-team All-Conference honors after finishing with 15.8 ppg, 8.5 rpg and 2.3 apg on 45.2 percent shooting from the field in 2022-23. He’s an undersized forward at 6-foot-6 who makes his for his lack of height with his strong frame. He finished with a PER of 19.4, good for 18th in the Big East.

Hopkins isn’t afraid to step out to the perimeter and knock down shots, either. He shot 36.4 percent from deep as a sophomore. Look for his continued development in the frontcourt alongside Josh Oduro at the center spot. He shouldn’t have a hard time showcasing his playmaking ability with Oduro’s presence in the painted area and shooters on the wing.

Bench – Donovan Santoro (5 mpg)

Donovan Santoro is another freshman addition for the Friars out of Southern California Academy who should see minutes in the frontcourt at the power forward spot. At 6-foot-8, he’s got the potential to operate at the stretch-forward spot behind Hopkins. He won’t have a ton of opportunities as a freshman given he’ll be playing behind Hopkins but he’ll need to be ready if his number is called in spot minutes.
