Point Guard

Starter – Kerr Kriisa (30 mpg)

Kerr Kriisa is the first transfer portal acquisition for the West Virginia Mountaineers who should breathe life into their backcourt in 2023-24. He’s an electric playmaker and shotmaker who turned heads the past three seasons in the Pac-12 with the Arizona Wildcats. He put up 9.4 ppg, 4.7 apg and 2.3 rpg on 35.2 percent shooting from deep across 76 appearances, 70 of them starts, from 2020-23.

He’s a shifty floor general who dished a career-high 5.1 apg this past season finishing second inthe Pac-12 in assists (180) while also leading the conference in 3-pointers made with 83. Look for him to carve out a role for himself in the Big 12 as a lead guard. He’s an efficient floor general who’s shown he can run an offense and keep others involved. He’ll look to continue his success as an addition to the Mountaineers starting backcourt.

Bench – Seth Wilson (10 mpg)

Seth Wilson is one returner from a season ago who should see minutes in the backcourt. He’ll play sparingly given Kriisa’s experience in the backcourt but he’s developing himself in the meantime. He appeared in 34 appearances in 2022-23, averaging 4.2 ppg on 41.5 percent shooting from deep. He’ll look to emerge as more of a distributor this upcoming season.
