Miami Basketball has been a big surprise already on the 2024 recruiting trail, securing top guards Austin Swartz and Jalil Bethea and wing/forward Isaiah Johnson-Arigu for the near future. Next year’s rotation, though, has some potential to keep things going on the hardwood in 2023-24. Head coach Jim Larranaga led the Hurricanes to the Final Four this past season led by the exploits of wing Jordan Miller and electric guard Isaiah Wong.

With both off to the NBA, there are a few voids to fill. However, with the addition of Matthew Cleveland (Florida State), things could still be on the up and up for the Hurricanes heading into a new season. Miami still returns six players from last year’s 29-8 squad including the trio of Norchad Omier, Nijel Pack and Wooga Poplar. On top of Cleveland, they’ll also add 6-foot-10 big man Michael Nwoko from their 2023 recruiting class. He’s an underrated forward out of Prolific Prep (CA) who should make an impact in the rotation.

Miami will have some interesting pieces to work with as they look to replace their top two scorers from a season ago but with the emergence of Poplar looming in a bigger role, things could fall right into place for the Hurricanes for another run in the NCAA Tournament.

The Hurricanes surprised everyone this past season in going 15-5 in the ACC and winning the regular season title after being projected to finish fourth in last year’s preseason poll. With another year on the horizon, take a look at the projected starting lineup and depth chart for Miami.
