Small Forward/Wing

Starter – Matthew Cleveland

After spending the past two seasons with the Florida State Seminoles, Matthew Cleveland makes the move to Coral Gables where he’ll look to fill the void left by Jordan Miller on the wing. He’s a versatile forward presence who can handle the ball and make plays for himself and others.

Cleveland finished his sophomore season with 13.8 ppg, 7.4 rpg and 1.8 apg on 35 percent shooting from 3-point range and 44.5 percent shooting from the floor. He won the ACC Sixth Man of the Year award in his debut season with the Seminoles back in 2021-22. With more offensive freedom to roam and other playmakers with him on the floor, look for his numbers to increase as a key addition to the Hurricanes rotation.

Bench – Kyshawn George

Kyshawn George is an under-the-radar name to get to know in the Hurricanes rotation given his international experience. He’s a native of Switzerland who posted 17.6 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 3.8 apg and 2.4 spg with Elan Chalon in France this past season in U21 competition. He’s an intriguing guard with length at his disposal at 6-foot-8 who could grow into a starting role given the Hurricanes’ lack of depth at the center/forward spot. If he works out, he could allow them to move Cleveland to the power-forward role if things don’t work out at the center spot.
