Texas A&M Basketball is one of the lone teams in the SEC that returns a bulk of its rotation from 2022-23. The roster of nine returners comes back with good reason after finishing second in the conference with a 15-3 record before an early first-round exit as a 7-seed against the Penn State Nittany Lions ended their season abruptly. The Aggies have a lot to prove after going 25-10 and losing just three games from January 18 to March 11 before dropping two games in a row to close the year.

Head coach Buzz Williams and his squad will be playing with a much bigger chip on their shoulder after at No. 7 seed was given to them in last year’s NCAA Tournament. On top of their nine returners, they’ll also add Jace Carter (UIC), Eli Lawrence (Middle Tennessee) and Wildens Leveque (UMass). With a bulk of their offensive production back in Wade Taylor IV, Julius Marble, Henry Coleman III and Tyrece Radford, the regular-season conference title could run through Lubbock in 2023-24.

Taylor has blossomed as a sophomore with his leadership in the backcourt and their veteran frontcourt members Marble and Coleman will return to make them one of their more physical squads in the conference. They definitely fit the gritty, versatile style of play that Coach Williams likes to run with.

The wild card is the presence of Radford. His ability to rebound the ball at the guard spot remains his biggest asset. As he sets an example for newcomers out of the portal to follow, look for this squad to turn some heads this upcoming season. Take a look at the 2023-24 season preview for Texas A&M Aggies.
