TCU Basketball: 2023-24 season preview for the Horned Frogs
2023-24 Season Outlook
This TCU squad has some impressive depth to work with heading into a new season. Head coach Jamie Dixon has the potential to go 10 deep with this group and can move pieces in and out of the starting rotation with ease given the team’s versatility.
There are times when they can operate inside and work off of Emanuel Miller, then there are times they can focus on attacking the paint and get Trey Tennyson going on the perimeter with his shooting ability. There are a number of different possibilities for the Horned Frogs when adjusting players in the rotation as they look to make noise in the Big 12 this season.
TCU will be an intriguing group when January 9 arrives, that’s for sure. They have a few formidable high-major opponents on the non-conference schedule, but they’ll need a strong performance in the conference regular-season schedule. Coach Dixon hasn’t surpassed more than nine wins since taking over the position back in 2016. If they can get over the edge with their added dimensions in both the backcourt and frontcourt, they’ll be an interesting squad to keep an eye on after pushing Gonzaga to the brink in last year’s NCAA Tournament.
Look for the Horned Frogs to compete in the Big 12 once again this season with one of the deepest squads in the conference under Coach Dixon. They should pan out to be an at-large bid from the conference at the very least, seeded anywhere from No. 3 up to No. 10, depending on how things go.
