Colorado basketball looks to bounce back after a promising start was derailed by some underwhelming performances in their final year in the Pac-12. The Buffaloes finished just 8-12 in regular-season conference action, good for eighth in the standings, as they missed the NCAA Tournament.

Head coach Tad Boyle finished just a game over .500 at 18-17 in leading Colorado in 2022-23. Things flipped for the Buffaloes this past season a year after they finished 12-8 in the conference and were virtually snubbed from the 2022 NCAA Tournament field in 2021-22. In 2023-24, the mission remains the same as Boyle looks to return as a staple in the tournament in March.

Boyle has five appearances in the NCAA Tournament under his belt as he heads into his 14th season on the sidelines in Boulder. The Buffaloes earned their highest seed (No. 5) ever under Coach Boyle following a 22-8 showing and 14-6 record in the Pac-12 back in 2020-21. Since then, Colorado has gone 39-29 on the year and 20-20 in conference play.

As they look to go out with a bang before making the jump to the Big 12, look for things to change with some continuity in this year’s rotation and a sour taste from last year’s performance still looming.

They’ll return KJ Simpson, Tristan Da Silva Julian Hammond III, J’Vonne Hadley, Javon Ruffin and Luke O’Brien while adding Eddie Lampkin Jr. (TCU) and freshmen Cody Williams and Assane Diop. With some unfinished business on the horizon, look for this group to turn heads this season. Take a look at the 2023-24 season preview for the Colorado Buffaloes.
