2023-24 Season Outlook

The Crimson Tide are coming off a historic season under Nate Oats with some unfinished business after earning a No. 1 seed in the 2023 NCAA Tournament. They’ll need to replace a ton of their production from a season ago with a lot of roster turnover and early injuries have already hampered things a bit in the playmaking department.

Alabama dropped an early exhibition game against Wake Forest back on Oct. 29 that saw them shoot 9-of-24 (37.5 percent) from deep but just 46.2 percent from the field. They’ve still got a few kinks to work out in the starting rotation as they look to put their best foot forward once again this upcoming year.

They were one of the top-scoring offenses in college basketball this past season, producing 81.8 points per contest as a team with Brandon Miller leading the way. As Coach Oats looks to continue his fast-paced offense, things could look a whole lot different for the Crimson Tide with a different team in the mix in 2023-24.

The Crimson Tide will need Aaron Estrada and Mark Sears to find balance with Grant Nelson, Rylan Griffen and Mohamed Wague all in the fold. Even then, given the versatility they like to play with, Coach Oats could tinker with the starting rotation for a while before finding his best fit.

With a few different question marks heading in, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Alabama struggle a bit in the early going. Don’t panic though, Crimson Tide fans, they should still peak at the right time this season and find themselves on the right side of the “bubble” in the NCAA Tournament.
