’Tis the season to be jolly, unless you are one of the teams still searching for answers on the basketball court. While much of the country is celebrating strong starts and signature wins, others are simply trying to stay afloat as conference play approaches. With the holiday break here, it is time once again to take a look at the bottom of the Division I landscape.

Bottom 10 Rankings: Christmas 2025 Edition

These are the ten teams that currently sit at the very bottom of college basketball heading into Christmas 2025.

356. The Citadel Bulldogs (3-10)

The Citadel enters the bottom ten riding a three-game losing streak, all away from home. After picking up a win over a non-Division I opponent, the Bulldogs have struggled mightily, capped by a 24-point loss at Richmond. They are currently the only team in the Southern Conference with just three wins. Conference play begins December 30 against East Tennessee State.

357. Louisiana–Monroe Warhawks (3-10)

UL Monroe slides into the rankings following a 16-point home loss to Louisiana. The Warhawks have now dropped three straight games since a win over Arkansas Baptist. Their only other victories came against Mississippi Valley State and a non-Division I opponent. They are one of two teams in the Sun Belt to open league play 0-2. ULM travels to Kansas State on December 28 before hosting Southern Miss in conference action.

358. Morgan State Bears (2-9)

Morgan State heads into Christmas near the bottom of the national metrics, sitting outside the top 360 in BPI. The Bears’ two wins came against Central Penn and Niagara. Since then, they have struggled on a West Coast trip, losing to California, San Francisco, and Loyola Marymount. They return home December 30 against another non-Division I opponent before opening MEAC play January 3 against Maryland Eastern Shore.

359. Jackson State Tigers (1-11)

Jackson State has just one win on the season and continues to struggle defensively. The Tigers allowed more than 100 points in three of their first four games and are giving up nearly 89 points per contest overall. They are coming off a 10-point home loss to Norfolk State. Jackson State travels to TCU next before opening SWAC play at home against Alcorn State on January 3.

360. Alcorn State Braves (1-10)

Alcorn State’s lone win came at home against Indiana State. Since then, the Braves have been overmatched, losing to Louisiana Tech, Iowa State, and Baylor. Over their last two games, they have allowed an alarming 122.5 points per game. Alcorn State closes nonconference play at Ole Miss on December 29 before beginning SWAC play on the road at Jackson State.

361. Gardner–Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs (2-12)

Gardner-Webb continues to struggle on both ends of the floor. The Bulldogs’ only two wins have come against non-Division I opponents, while their most recent loss came at Tennessee, where they allowed 94 points. On the season, Gardner-Webb is surrendering nearly 88 points per game. They open Big South play against Charleston Southern, a team that enters conference action above .500.

362. St. Francis (PA) Red Flash (2-11)

St. Francis has yet to record a Division I victory this season. The Red Flash have dropped four straight games, including losses to Radford, Temple, Florida, and Robert Morris. They are averaging just 68.5 points per game while allowing nearly 84. Conference play begins January 2 at home against Le Moyne.

363. Coppin State Eagles (2-14)

Coppin State has played more games than any team in the country, yet has little to show for it. The Eagles’ lone Division I win came against Rider. Since then, they have dropped seven straight games, most of which came on the road. After hosting UMBC on December 29, Coppin State opens MEAC play January 3 at Delaware State.

364. South Carolina State Bulldogs (1-12)

South Carolina State owns just one win this season, a victory over Brewton-Parker. Since then, the Bulldogs were routed by South Carolina and continue to struggle offensively, scoring fewer than 66 points per game. They face another difficult test at Tennessee before opening MEAC play at home against Howard.

365. Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils (1-11)

Mississippi Valley State remains at the bottom of the rankings. The Delta Devils have lost 11 straight games since a lone win over Mississippi University for Women. Despite scoring 91 points in that victory, they are averaging just 64.2 points per game while allowing over 90. Rebounding has also been an issue, as they are pulling down fewer than 32 boards per contest. Recent blowout losses to Florida State and West Virginia underscore the uphill climb ahead. MVSU travels to Oklahoma on December 29 before opening SWAC play against Alabama State.
