Overall outlook and expectations for the Blue Devils

Many pundits have been picked the Blue Devils to win the ACC and with good reason. They've got the potential to be a well-rounded group when it's all said and done and they've looked good so far, making easy work of the Arizona State Sun Devils, 103-47, in an exhibition game.

Flagg, Knuppel and Maluach are a trio of freshmen to keep an eye on. Proctor and Foster look ready to lead the way with their experience as this group has a chance to be very good defensively. Not only should they be a very good defensive team, depth shouldn't be an issue, either.

It's only an exhibition, Duke allowed 47 points while holding Arizona State to 28.1 percent shooting from the field and 25 percent from deep and forcing 18 turnovers as a team. Offensively, they showed impressive chemistry in putting up 103 points while Knueppel dished out four assists and Foster, Flagg and Proctor dished out three assists each.

They've got an intriguing mix of transfer portal additions in Gillis, Brown and James who look ready to do their own damage on the hardwood. Gillis and James combined for 23 points, seven assists and six rebounds while Brown snagged five rebounds of his own in their exhibition victory.
