Cooper Flagg showed there's work still to be done

Cooper Flagg played a big game for the Duke Blue Devils. He finished with 29 points, 12 rebounds, two blocks and two assists on 9-of-19 shooting from the field and 7-for-9 from the free-throw line. It was his second double-double for the Blue Devils as he exploded for a personal best in both points and rebounds.

Flagg showed flashes of why a lot of NBA Draft scouts are high on him and his skill set at the next level. He flew around on both ends and took over for the Blue Devils offense to showcase his ability to attack from the inside and out. He was a big reason they outscored Kentucky 46-26 in the paint, but ultimately, they still came up short.

Flagg played 32 minutes and some of his fatigue showed down the stretch. He was a bit uncharacteristic with two late turnovers and a missed box out on a missed free throw with the Blue Devils down 75-72 and a chance to rebound the ball.

It's early and there's no reason for Flagg to hang his head but it's certainly motivation to improve on his overall conditioning and composure down the stretch going forward.
