NCAA Basketball: Picks for Day 25 of the 2024-25 season
By Bryan Mauro
I didn’t think today was going to be anywhere near as exciting as yesterday was. I was very wrong. The day started in the Bahamas at the Battle 4 Atlantis, with Louisville beating Indiana by 30. The Hoosiers didn’t look interested and appeared to have the same problems they did last year. Then Gonzaga was all out of sorts and lost a game to West Virginia that they should not have lost.
Auburn blew out another opponent when they beat Memphis to win the Maui Invitational. Iowa State blew out Colorado, Oregon blew out San Diego State, Michigan State beat North Carolina in Overtime, Texas A&M beat Creighton, and Alabama beat Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights showed very well and impressed. Michigan won the Fort Myers Tip-Off by beating Xavier. The Big Ten has looked impressive so far. Finally, SMU won the Acrisure Championship.
Yesterday, I went 42-17 in my picks. That does not include the very late games in Maui and Vegas. That brings my 24-day total to 825-264 overall. There are a decent number of games today, and some tournaments are starting. The Battle 4 Atlantis continues. The ESPN Events Invitational, Rady’s Children’s Invitational, Acrisure Classic, Acrisure Invitational, NIT Season Tip-Off, Arizona Tip-Off, Western Slam, and the Thanksgiving Hoops Showcase all begin tomorrow. Picks for day 25, November 28, 2024, are below.
Louisville over West Virginia
Wichita State over Minnesota
Rhode Island over UT Arlington
Gonzaga over Indiana
Florida over Wake Forest
Purdue over NC State
Utah Valley over North Dakota State
Arkansas over Illinois
TCU over Santa Clara
Arizona over Oklahoma
Ole Miss over BYU
Utah State over St. Bonaventure
Washington over Colorado State
Butler over Northwestern
Providence over Davidson
UC Irvine over Kennesaw State
North Texas over Northern Iowa
Saint Mary’s over USC
Mississippi State over UNLV
Kent State over Towson
New Mexico over Arizona State
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Enjoy the time with your families. Gonzaga and Indiana look good on paper, but Indiana is likely going to get blasted. The Bulldogs are upset, and Indiana doesn’t guard the three-point line. Arkansas and Illinois and Florida and Wake Forest are both games that are going to be great and could be close throughout. There is a lot of star power in those games, and anything can happen in those games. Enjoy your turkey, and enjoy your hoops.
