The season is flying by right before our eyes. At the same time, we’ve barely scratched the surface at just what this season could become. There’s barely a month less of regular season play across the country but March Madness will really show just what these players and teams are made of in college basketball.

Let’s slow down our roll because March isn’t the only important part of the season. The last three months have shown a great deal about hundreds of teams and thousands of coaches across the nation. We’re seeing teams put up unexpected performances in major upsets while players rise into household names right before our eyes. In a game with only a few possible results, the possibilities and surprises seem endless.

Instead of looking ahead towards March, let’s consider just where everyone sits right now a week into February. There’s a certain upper echelon of teams that have established themselves this season, and the same can be said on a conference level. While there are exciting league races like in the SEC, there are also some teams that have really played incredible basketball and deserve all the praise.

It’s those top teams that we’re thinking about again today as we take our weekly dive into the best teams in the nation. What that means is the weekly update to our Top 25 rankings and it’s certainly not an easy process at this time of year. Some teams are significantly battle tested compared to others while conference races bring intensity all over these rankings. Let’s dive right into the teams we deemed worthy for inclusion this week.
