5) Cade Tyson | 6’7 Shooting Guard | UNC Tar Heels

Cade Tyson joins the UNC Tar Heels backcourt looking to strength the backcourt and then some after terrorizing opponents at Belmont in the MVC. Tyson shot a career-high 46.5 percent from deep while putting up 16.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists per contest in 2023-24. His 80 made 3-pointers ranked him fifth place in the conference this past season.

Tyson is a sizeable perimeter threat who can operate inside and out as evidenced by his production. He averaged 2.6 made 3-pointers as a only a sophomore on the college basketball stage in 2023-24. He won't have too much pressure to play on the interior with addition of Tyzhaun Claude (Georgia Tech) which opens things up for him for roam the perimeter.

RJ Davis and Elliott Cadeau should be excited to have Tyson on the roster. He'll certainly boost their assist numbers this upcoming season given his ability to knock down shots from deep.

He's a player who's done well to show his development as he climbs onto the ACC radar in 2024-25. What sets him apart is his underrated strength on the floor that he utilizes to create openings when he attacks with the ball. Look for him to play a role in the Tar Heels' perimeter success this season.
