Boston College basketball made an appearance in the NIT following a 20-16 finish this past season under head coach Earl Grant. Quinten Post took home All-ACC second team and All-ACC Defense honors while averaging 17.0 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.7 blocks per contest to lead the Golden Eagles. Post rode his momentum all the way to the NBA Draft, where he became the 52nd overall pick, and he isn't the only key departure that could hamper their progress in 2024-25.

Their top three leading scorers are gone in Claudell Harris Jr. (13.7 points per game), Jaeden Zackery (11.3 points per game) and Devin McGlockton (10.2 points per game), thanks to the transfer portal. Harris is off to Mississippi State, McGlockton is off to Vanderbilt and they'll see Zackery soon as he'll join the Clemson Tigers next season. Another key loss was Prince Aligbe, who went to Seton Hall.

Earl Grant and company will need to find a new identity rather quickly with conference realignment abound and just five returners from last season's roster. California, SMU and Stanford join the ACC ranks this season as the Golden Eagles welcome four new faces out of the transfer portal in Dion Brown (UMBC), Roger McFarlane (SE Louisiana), Chad Venning (St. Bonaventure) and Josh Beadle (Clemson).
