Boston College Basketball: 2024-25 season preview for Eagles
Overall Outlook for Boston College in 2024-25
The Golden Eagles will have a lot of moving parts with the additions of Chad Venning, Dion Brown, and Roger McFarlane but there's some returning talent who could breakout in Kelley and Hand. After going 8-12 in the conference, it's hard to forecast this team surpassing that win-total with the lack of experience or overall depth in the rotation.
Venning's addition gives them a talented proposition to work with in the frontcourt, but a lot will need to go right for things to work out. It helps they have a few different bodies to work with in the rotation, but the lack of overall experience could be an issue when conference play arrives.
It's almost as if they've turned back the clock heading into Coach Grant's fourth season. It wouldn't be totally surprising to see this team win 5-6 games in the conference portion of the year. Their non-conference slate features 11 games including their trip to the Grand Cayman Islands.
They'll need to do well to build their chemistry and identity in the early stages of the schedule or it could be another long season for Coach Grant and company.
There's heavy foreshadowing of this being another year that sees this team repeat the results from 2021-22, Grant's first year as head coach. That year Boston College finished 13-20 and 6-14 in ACC action. It wouldn't be surprising to see them hover around those results once again in 2024-25.
