No. 20 BYU (14-3, 2-2) at No. 25 Texas Tech (14-3, 3-1), Saturday, January 20, 6:00 PM ET, ESPN2

The last two games on the list are a couple of Big 12 tilts. First up is the No. 25 Texas Tech Red Raiders who play host to No. 20 BYU. Grant McCasland’s team is in the midst of its toughest stretch of the year, having traveled to No. 5 Houston on Wednesday, a game they lost 77-54. After playing host to the Cougars, they get a week off before traveling to Norman to take on Oklahoma. When people talk about the Big 12, the Red Raiders aren’t one of the first teams talked about, but they are 14-3 and in a tie for first place in the league with a 3-1 record.

The Red Raiders had won nine in a row before their game against Houston and thanks to that stretch are climbing seed list. After being picked to finish 8th in the league, we are heading towards February and the Red Raiders are one of the many contenders in the league. Parts of their resume haven't stacked up yet, but this stretch including this game with BYU should give us a better idea of where Texas Tech stands.

As well as the Red Raiders have been playing, their resume is lacking in the strength of schedule area. They have a 12-0 record in quads 3 and 4 with an overall strength of schedule rank of 141 which includes a 294 non-conference rank. They don’t have any wins over a team currently in our field as an at-large and their only wins in the first two quads are over Texas and Michigan. Their mettle will certainly be tested over the last month with seven games against ranked teams.
