Carlton Carrington - 6'4 Guard - Pittsburgh Panthers

Carlton Carrington has been on a tear in the early going for the Pittsburgh Panthers in his debut to college basketball. He's shown no signs of slowing down since starting things off with a triple-double against North Carolina A&T in a 100-52 victory in their season opener.

The 6-foot-4 guard is producing 14.7 points, 6.1 assists and 5.1 rebounds per contest while shooting 34.8 percent from behind the arc and 43 percent from the field as the Panthers are 7-3 on the season. He's made a smooth transition from primary scorer to scoring facilitator and playmaker in the Pittsburgh rotation and it's paid off with their overall success on the hardwood. Head coach Jeff Capel has been able to breathe a lot easier with his backcourt in the hands of Carrington.

Now, he's yet to surpass his assist total of 10 that he set in the first game of the season but it's apparent his best basketball is certainly ahead of him. He was relied on heavily in the high school to shoot the basketball but he's proven to be even more of an asset as an all-around guard presence who can distribute and rebound the ball as well with his length. He's certainly a name for NBA Draft scouts to get to know as ACC play approaches in the month of January.
