Memphis Tigers

After a dreadful past season for the program, Memphis will try again in the portal to get some big names to get back to the top of the AAC. Center is a big position of need since they’re losing Nae’Qwan Tomlin, Malcolm Dandridge, and Jordan Brown this offseason. They tried for offensive-minded big men and it didn’t work, as the team struggled on the defensive end.

Adding Omoruyi would massively improve Memphis on that end and if David Jones returns for an extra year, they’d be well-rounded compared to this past season. He’d also have a dominant impact at the AAC level as well.

Michigan State Spartans

Despite being a preseason top-5 team, Michigan State didn’t succeed compared to expectations. Part of the issues came from the center position, as Mady Sissoko and Jaxon Kohler had their struggles. Sissoko does have a 5th year but Coach Tom Izzo could want to make a splash and improve at that position.

We’ve seen Omoruyi play at a high level in the Big Ten and it could be a risk to play elsewhere. And playing for Coach Izzo is a massive sell. Improvement at the five-spot could be the key to getting Michigan State back to the top of the conference but are they willing to land a player within their league?
