The Big Monday schedule on ESPN delivered some fantastic games. North Carolina beat Miami at the Dean Dome. Star RJ Davis scored 42 points which was a Dean Dome record and Miami hit 14 threes to stay in that game. Kansas State beat West Virginia and survived the Mountaineers going on a 31-9 run in the second half to briefly take the lead. Kansas State is now 12-0 in overtime under current head coach Jerome Tang. Baylor beat TCU in Fort Worth to split the two games with the Horned Frogs. It was low-scoring and Baylor used a second-half run to provide the margin for the victory. Mississippi Valley State finally won a game and is no longer defeated. They beat Prairie View at home and Itta Bena Mississippi was hopping for one night.
Yesterday I went 12-4 in my picks and that brings my 111 day total to 3,301-1,348 overall. There are huge games today on the bubble and between teams fighting for seeding. Most every game today is going to have some sort of an impact on the bubble and in conference seeding to try and get a first round bye in the league tournament. Let’s see where do we begin today. Wake Forest has a must-win game on the road at Notre Dame. The Demon Deacons had a huge win over Duke to get them firmly in the field with two weeks to play, they can no longer afford a slip-up to a bad team. Villanova has to beat Georgetown tonight to still continue to give themselves a chance. Cincinnati is in desperate need of a win and a win against the number 1 team in the country on the road would be a good starting point.
Mississippi State would likely lock themselves into the field with a win over Kentucky tonight. The Hump is going to be on fire tonight. BYU can’t win on the road and they have a tough road game tonight at the Phog. The schedule is big tonight and if every bubble team loses that is going to make the cut line even more clearly defined than it already is.
