One of the better point guards in the 2025 NCAA Basketball recruiting class is Kingstown Flemings, a 6'3 ball-handler from the state of Texas. He's a quality athlete, who can run an offense and has the passing ability to distribute at a high level.

Flemings, who is ranked in the top 25 per 247sportsComposite, has recently visited Texas Tech. And per Brandon Jenkins of 247sports, the talented, playmaker also has four other programs firmly in the mix. It's not a final list at the moment but for now, here's a closer look at how Flemings would fit with each of the reported contenders.

Creighton Bluejays

One of the better programs in terms of guard development has been at Creighton, led by Coach Greg McDermott. He'll need a new lead guard after next season, with starter Steven Ashworth entering his final year. What makes this option interesting is that the program has a pair of four-star incoming guards in Ty Davis and Larry Johnson. If they solidify their respective roles in the rotation next season, a clear logjam would emerge for 2025 guard prospects.

Houston Cougars

Not only have the Cougars become the top program in the state of Texas, but they also can sell Flemings on becoming the next Jamal Shead, coming off winning Big 12 Player of the Year honors as the starting point guard. The team has Oklahoma transfer Milos Uzan for the next two years and while Flemings would have to take limited minutes as a freshman (assuming Uzan doesn't leave early), could become the future lead ball-handler for the program.

Michigan Wolverines

Michigan's backcourt includes a pair of transfer guards in Rubin Jones and Tre Donaldson, with Jones entering his final year. Like with Creighton, the Wolverines also have a pair of incoming freshmen ball-handlers to the team in Durral Brooks and Lorenzo Cason. But so far, new Coach Dusty May has been after a number of top-tier guard prospects in the 2025 class, such as Darius Acuff and Trey McKenney. If they land any of them, this option would likely be less appealing for someone like Flemings.

Texas Longhorns

The Longhorns' new-look backcourt includes top transfers, Julian Larry and Jordan Pope. With 5-star prospect Tre Johnson possibly being a "one and done" draft contender, this team will be losing a lot of guards a year from now. While there's a chance that Flemings could have a real role early on at Texas, he'd have to see which other ball-handlers, including possible 5-star targets, are also in the mix in the 2025 class.

Texas Tech Red Raiders

The starting point guard for Texas Tech next season will be Elijah Hawkins, who comes over from Minnesota and entering his final year. That leaves incoming freshman guard Christian Anderson Jr. as the only other ball-handler in the future and it's unknown how good he'll be at the Big 12 level.

The Red Raiders will need another ball-handler in the 2025 class and Flemings would be the ideal pickup, but they still may want a veteran to run the team for the 2025-25 campaign. But compared to the four other current contenders, this option represents the best chance for big early minutes for Flemings.
