No. 20 - Michigan Wolverines: Dusty May makes his mark

To begin, Dusty May had some convincing to do internally, returning core pieces of last year’s team in Nimari Burnett and Will Tschetter. Both expect to play an integral role in this year’s group.

Secondly, Dusty May made his mark in its frontcourt, convincing a pair of seven-footers to play alongside each other. Danny Wolf, who averaged a near double-double at Yale, was the anchor down low for a team that infamously upset 4-seed Auburn in the Round of 64. He’s now off to Ann Arbor alongside former FAU big-man Vlad Goldin, who averaged 15.7 PPG and nearly seven RPG last season under May.

How this fit works remains a crucial question, however, it was addressed by Wolf recently, who explained he has been working at the four this summer. It’s a frontcourt beaming with potential thanks to Dusty May’s ability to work in big men with ball screens on offense.

Add in Ohio State transfer Roddy Gayle Jr. -- who expects to be this group’s most valuable contributor -- expect Michigan’s fall from relevance to be short-lived thanks to a stellar offseason.
