04. Alabama Crimson Tide (14-6, 4-3)
There’s been some controversy surrounding Alabama over the past week, but that didn’t prevent the Crimson Tide from dismantling its latest opponent. Following an uncharacteristically bad offensive performance against Tennessee last week, Alabama showed why it should still be in the conference title conversation. Nate Oats’ squad made 15 threes against Missouri on their way to a 25-point win. Alabama’s next three games are extremely tough, but if the Tide can stay hot from behind the arc, there’s no reason why they can’t make up the gap and reclaim a spot among the top teams in the conference.
03. Vanderbilt Commodores (19-3, 6-3)
The Commodores have taken advantage of a weaker stretch of games to get their season back on track. Vanderbilt followed up its three-game losing streak by winning three straight games. This week, Vanderbilt dominated Kentucky by 25 points before sweating out a three-point victory against Ole Miss. The Commodores haven’t been great defensively, but over the last three games have only given up 59.7 points per game. It will be a tough task, but if the defense can keep this up, there will be absolutely no stopping this Vanderbilt team moving forward.
02. Florida Gators (15-6, 6-2)
There have been some lopsided games during SEC play, but none of them come close to what Florida did at South Carolina. The Gators, coming off a loss to Auburn, truly dominated on both ends of the court on their way to a 47-point win over the Gamecocks, while only allowing 48 points. Winning on the road against power conference teams is hard to do, so winning by nearly 50 points in league play is truly insane. After this week, Florida might be the odds-on favorite to win the conference, and it's easy to see why.
01. Texas A&M Aggies (17-4, 7-1)
The Aggies currently hold a one-game lead over Florida in the SEC standings, which is something that nobody could have predicted coming into the season. Texas A&M has won four straight and has beaten its last three opponents by double-digits, including taking down Georgia by 15 in Athens. Much of the Aggies' recent success has come from the defensive end of the court, where A&M is only allowing 71 points during its four-game win streak. With three ranked opponents over their next four games, the Aggies have a real opportunity to solidify their spot atop the SEC rankings.
