Continue to find their spark without J.J. Starling
A lot can change with a roster due to the impact of an injury. That's somewhat been the case for Syracuse without the presence of their leading scorer, J.J. Starling.
With J.J. Starling out indefinitely with a broken hand, Syracuse has still been searching for that spark he provided. One player who's starting to spark at the right time is Jyare Davis. Davis is averaging 10.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game and seemingly found his way into the starting rotation.
He went a perfect 7-of-7 from the field and finished with 15 points across 18 minutes of action in the starting lineup in their victory over Albany on Tuesday. That's after Davis put up 20 points and four rebounds on 8-of-12 shooting from their field in their ACC opener against Notre Dame off the bench this past Saturday.
A week later, it will be interesting to see where Davis stands in the rotation, given the Orange matchup rather well with Georgetown across the board. He'll be looked upon in the paint attack for Syracuse. The Orange rank first in all of college basketball in points inside the arc with 49.3 points per game and have produced 52 points per game in their last three games.
