It’s a new era at Texas Basketball, landing Xavier HC Sean Miller as the new leader of the program. The Longhorns have a new roster as well, looking to remain competitive in the SEC next season. We now know what their non-con schedule will be, too, as they released their schedule last week.

Among the games are the three in the Maui Invitational, where they could play teams such as NC State, USC, and Arizona State. But among the 10 other games, who are the most notable opponents? Here’s a look at the top three to watch.

3. Virginia Cavaliers (H)

New HC Ryan Odom landed several key transfer guards this offseason, including Jacari White (North Dakota), Dallin Hall (BYU), and Malik Thomas (San Francisco). The frontcourt is much less proven, but the incoming international core of Johann Grunloh and Thijs De Ridder has promise. While it’s a new era with the Cavaliers, look for them to be a threat in the ACC still.

2. UConn Huskies (A)

The Huskies have a top-10 caliber roster once again, thanks to the return of all-league stars Alex Karaban and Solomon Ball. Transfer guards Malachi Smith and Silas Demary Jr. give them a quality group of backcourt depth, while Tarris Reed and top-30 freshman center Eric Reibe give them good center depth as well. Freshmen wings Braylon Mullins and Jacob Murphy are key newcomers to watch, too.

1. Duke Blue Devils (N)

Duke lost a ton of talent this offseason, including the No. 1 NBA Draft pick, Cooper Flagg. However, the team has another top incoming recruiting class, led by 5-star freshmen Cameron and Cayden Boozer, along with Dame Sarr and Nikolas Khamenia. Look for the Blue Devils to have another Final Four-caliber roster again for next season, especially if Caleb Foster and Patrick Ngongba have breakout campaigns.
