Now that conference play is upon us, where do we stand as the the calendar turns to 2015? We bring you our New Year’s Day edition of Busting Bracketology!
Defending champion UConn is on the outside looking in after a rough non-conference performance as is perennial Big Ten power Michigan.
Duke and Kentucky are clearly #1 seeds, but following their loss to UNLV, Arizona drops down to a #2 seed, joining Louisville, Villanova, and Gonzaga as #2 seeds.

For midwest fans, the possibility of an IU-Kentucky rivalry match-up in the second round is possible with Indiana coming in as a #9 seed. In fact, Louisville finds it’s way into that bracket as well, loading up on Midwest talent.
Also of note, TCU enters the field for the first time this year, and if they continue their hot start it will be the first tournament appearance for the Horned Frogs since 1998. Indiana and Xavier find themselves in the field for the first time this year as well.
Surprisingly, the Big East and Big 12 lead the way with 7 bids apiece – a change from the Big 10 and ACC leading the way earlier in the season.
