WCC  Basketball is gearing up for what should be an exciting battle for second. Who are the top sophomores to watch in such a tight race?

Last year, the performance put on by the top players of WCC Basketball caught the eye of the national media. Players such as Jock Landale and Elijah Bryant broke into the spotlight that is traditionally reserved for Gonzaga’s stars.

With many of these players gone, it is time for new players to step up to keep their teams competitive. So far, Busting Brackets has taken a look at the top juniors and seniors in the WCC. Now it is time to look at the top players entering their second season of eligibility.

The past season’s sophomore class was probably one of the strongest in the history of the WCC, and this season should be no different. Four of the players named to the 2017-18 All-WCC Freshman Team return and many other sophomores will be stepping into bigger roles.

The Portland Pilots, in particular, will be heavily reliant on their sophomore class, many of whom had productive seasons in the team’s ninth-place effort.  In fact, they have the most players in the Top 10 and Honorable Mentions, with four members of their roster named.

Before we get into the Top 10 Sophomores, let’s consider five players that just missed the cut.

Honorable Mentions: Jacob Larsen (Gonzaga), Malcolm Porter (Portland), JoJo Walker (Portland), Jock Perry (Saint Mary’s), Tahj Eaddy (Santa Clara)

Now, let’s take a look at the Top 10 Sophomores for the 2018-19 WCC Season.
