Texas Basketball center Jaxson Hayes has emerged in the 2019 NBA Draft as one of the top big men in the class. Here’s a look at his profile with the draft coming up.

Jaxson Hayes emerged from reserve to starter during his freshman season with Texas Basketball in 2018-19. In his only season as a college basketball player, he started in 21 of his 32 appearances for the Longhorns, producing 10.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per contest.

Hayes took home the Big 12 Rookie of the Year award as well as second-team All-Big 12 and All-Defense team honors as the paint protector for the Texas Longhorns last season. He’s got the size, athleticism and ability to compete at the NBA level and was one of the stock risers from this past season.

He led the conference in 2-point field goal percentage (72.8 percent) and also finished fourth in the NCAA. NBA scouts have already gotten a good look at him at the NBA Draft Combine and based on the numbers he posted this past season, he’s got a bright future ahead of him.

With his raw potential, he’s yet to truly scratch the surface of his all-around game. For example, he didn’t attempt a 3-pointer in college. In the evolving game of the NBA, that could change for him.

It helps that the likes of Mo Bamba (2018) and Jarrett Allen (2017) have come before him. Given the odds, he’s set to become a potential lottery pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Here’s a look at the draft profile for Jaxson Hayes.
