Key Reserves

Brock Cunningham, Forward/Wing

Cunningham is one of their returning faces off the bench who should provide a ton of support on the wing and at the power forward spot. He’s a 6-foot-5 forward who put up 4.6 ppg, 3.4 rpg and 1.4 apg on 41.3 percent from 3-point land in 2022-23. He’ll be looked upon to play a big role off the bench as a veteran presence for the Longhorns in 2023-24 as their potential Sixth Man.

Chendall Weaver, Guard

Weaver joins the Longhorns in the Big 12 after spending the past season in the WAC with UT-Arlington. He made quite the debut in his first year with 9.5 ppg, 4.6 rpg and 2.0 apg on 40.2 percent shooting from deep. He’ll look to boost the backcourt with his prowess on the perimeter at the guard spot while operating potentially at both guard roles. He’s shown he’s certainly capable of doing so in the WAC.

Ithiel Horton, Guard

Horton is another transfer portal addition out of the AAC who should boost their backcourt as a graduate transfer. He finished sixth in the conference this past season in 3-pointers made (78) and also has some ACC experience under his belt with Pittsburgh (2020-22). Look for him to play a role off the bench with his ability to knock down shots and handle the ball as a playmaker.

Ze’Rik Onyema, Forward/Center

Onyema should shore things up in the frontcourt at the power forward and center roles as a backup. At 6-foot-8, he finished with 7.1 ppg and 4.4 rpg on 55.4 percent shooting from the floor in 2022-23. He joins Texas out of UTEP in the Conference USA as he looks for a bigger opportunity in the Big 12.
