NC State Basketball: 3 keys to victory on the road against Kansas Jayhawks
The NC State Wolfpack are 7-2 and 1-0 in ACC play heading into a key non-conference game on Saturday. They recently snapped a three-game losing streak in a gritty overtime victory over the Florida State Seminoles to open things up in conference play and followed that up with a 66-56 victory over Coppin State on Tuesday night.
On Saturday though, the Wolfpack will face their first true road test of the season in the Kansas Jayhawks. NC State has lost some nail-biters already this season, including a 63-59 defeat at the hands of the Texas Longhorns in the ACC/SEC Challenge, but this year's group is built a lot differently.
It seems Marcus Hill is their leading face in the backcourt out of the transfer portal. He leads the way with 13.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game on 53.3 percent shooting from the floor. He isn't the greatest 3-point shooting threat but Dontrez Styles, another addition out of the portal, has picked up that slack. Styles is averaging 10.6 points per game while shooting 37.8 percent from behind the arc.
They'll have their first real test ahead of them on Saturday at Allen Fieldhouse. They're catching Kansas at the right time too, as they're fresh off two losses and clearly vulnerable. Take a look at the three keys to victory in their matchup against the Kansas Jayhawks.
